- "On May 25, 2007, it was announced that The Sims film rights had been purchased by 20th Century Fox. It will be written by Brian Lynch, the writer of Angel: After The Fall. The film will be produced by John Davis, who has worked on films such as Norbit and Eragon.
It will be a drama and will be released in 2009.Currently, it is slated to be set in Pleasantview, an idyllic neighborhood that contains the Pleasants and Goths from the original game. A newcomer, Andie, discovers that the town is really full of dishonest people and families with dark secrets, such as the Goths, Don Lothario and the struggling Newbies. And she discovers that they are being ruled by a greater power. She is terrified to discover they are stuck in a video game being played by millions of users worldwide."
